Law enforcers check documents of visitors of the "Tangim" Mosque

After the Friday (August 14) namaz (prayer), several dozen law enforcers stopped the cars of visitors of the Makhachkala "Tangim" Mosque and examined their documents.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that law enforcers are regularly conducting their Friday raids near the "Tangim" mosque. In late March, the mosque was closed due to the coronavirus epidemic, but with the resumption of services, law enforcers' weekly raids resumed. On the day of Eid al-Adha, July 31, there was no traditional raid. According to parishioners, law enforcers select those who wear beards for inspection.

Magomed, a believer, said that on August 14, policemen stopped the cars leaving the mosque yard and checked drivers' documents.

The raid was conducted by up to 45 law enforcers, Idris Yusupov, a journalist, has added.
