In Dagestan, hospital personnel reprimanded after protest action

In Dagestan, the administration of the Shamilkala hospital reprimanded ten medical workers who took part in an action to protest against the reorganization of the hospital.

On August 4, several dozen residents of the Shamilkala village in the Untsukul District took part in a protest action with a request to return to the local hospital the status of a republican interdistrict hospital. The protest action involved medical personnel of the hospital, patients, and local residents.

The medical workers who took part in the protest were reprimanded "in connection with the fact that they were absent from their working places without good reasons and attended an unsanctioned rally."

A doctor, five nurses, an epidemiologist's assistant, and three nurse's aides were reprimanded.

On its Instagram page, the Ministry for Public Health of Dagestan claims that the situation around the hospital in the village of Shamilkala "is being disseminated in the media in a distorted form."

"On the air of the 'Channel Five', they reported that the hospital was allegedly closed and doctors were ёallegedly dismissed ... The hospital works as usual. None of the doctors has been dismissed, and no one is going to dismiss anyone," the Ministry for Public Health of Dagestan wrote in its post on Instagram.
