Elderly patient from Beno-Yurt waiting for ambulance for sixth day

For the sixth day, the ambulance is evading a call to Abu Meduev, an elder of the Beno-Yurt village in the Nadterechny District of Chechnya, whose health has deteriorated, his son Sultan has stated. He attributes the situation to the fact that he himself was diagnosed with coronavirus; and medics avoid contact with his family.

Meduev's health worsened, and on July 17 an ambulance was called. Earlier, in connection with his illness, Meduev visited the hospital once a month, where he received a blood transfusion, his son Sultan told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent on July 21.

"After that he felt well. Now, his haemoglobin dropped sharply, the blood tension began falling. We decided to call an ambulance, or at least invite a therapist to come. But neither doctors nor nurses come to our house – they are afraid of getting infected," said Sultan Meduev.

He explained that he himself was diagnosed with coronavirus infection; and therefore the health workers are afraid to enter the house, although his father has no COVID-19.
