Two Armenian officers killed on border with Azerbaijan

Major Garush Ambartsumyan and Captain Sos Elbakyan had been killed during a shelling attack from the Azerbaijani side, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) of Armenia reported.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on July 12, armed clashes took place on the border in the Tovuz District of Azerbaijan and in the Tavush Region of Armenia. 20 people fell victims to the hostilities. So, Azerbaijan claimed 11 dead and four wounded, while Armenia reported five wounded persons.

Shushan Stepanyan, the press secretary for the Armenian MoD, reported that Major Garush Ambartsumyan, born in 1989, and Captain Sos Elbakyan, born in 1992, had been killed in the shelling attack in the Tavush Region.
