Armenian policemen wounded on border with Azerbaijan

While on duty on the border in the Tavush District, two fighters of the police internal troops were slightly injured during a shelling attack from the Azerbaijani side, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) of Armenia reported. The Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) scheduled an emergency meeting for July 13 in connection with the escalation of the conflict.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on July 12, an armed clash took place on the border in the Tovuz District of Azerbaijan and the Tavush District of Armenia, and three Azerbaijani soldiers were killed. Today, the Ministry of Defence of Azerbaijan has reported about new armed clashes and the death of the fourth soldier. The parties to the conflict also accused each other of artillery attacks.

The policemen were wounded during a shelling attack on a military unit, reported on Facebook Shushan Stepanyan, the press secretary of the Armenian MoD.

Let us remind you that the Ministry of Defence of Azerbaijan every day reports shelling attacks on its positions in the Karabakh conflict zone. Until the third decade of June, 20-30 shelling attacks over 24 hours were reported. However, the number of registered shelling attacks increased later: on some days, more than 50 shelling attacks were reported, and on July 8, the Ministry of Defence of Azerbaijan registered 78 shelling attacks over 24 hours. Today, Azerbaijan has reported 70 shelling attacks on its positions, including from grenade and mortar launchers.
