Residents of Chechen Gudermes complain about frequent interruptions in water supply

In recent weeks, residents of Gudermes suffer from interruptions in water supply, and in residential buildings, apartments located on the third floors and higher are completely cut off from water supply, city residents complain. People have to buy drinking water and refuse to use washing machines.

Earlier, the "Caucasian Knot" has reported about water supply problems in Grozny and Urus-Martan, where water supply was regularly cut off and the quality of water was constantly deteriorating. According to residents of Grozny, the lack of water for many hours during the period of self-isolation, when the whole family is at home, is a serious problem.

"Water is supplied from time to time, mainly at night ... Officials from the City Mayoralty explain the problem by old water pipes and say the pipe networks are to be replaced by new ones. However, the officials cannot say when they will replace the water supply networks and provide us with the supply of normal drinking water," complained Aslambek, a resident of Gudermes.

"Half of my garden has already withered because of water problems. The trees barely bear fruits," Raisa stated.

In Gudermes, the interruptions in the water supply are related to worn-out pipe networks and increased water consumption in the summer, the City Mayoralty explains.
