Journalist claims Karachayevsk doctors get threats of dismissal after their interview

Medical officers from the Karachayevsk Central District Hospital reported to Vladimir Sevrinovsky, a journalist from Moscow, about the lack of medical personnel at the hospital, the lack of personal protective equipment (PPE), and the absence of incentive payments. After the interview, the doctors were subjected to pressure.

Earlier, Leyla Batchaeva, the head of the infectious diseases department of the Karachayevsk Central District Hospital, and other medical officers have reported to the Moscow journalist about the medical crisis in the republic amid the coronavirus epidemic.

Vladimir Sevrinovsky used his pages on social networks to address the Ministry for Public Health of Karachay-Cherkessia with a request to pay attention to the fact that after the medical officers from the Karachayevsk Central District Hospital had talked to the journalist and described the situation with the coronavirus infection in the region, they began to receive threats of dismissal. According to Vladimir Sevrinovsky, he learned about the pressure exerted on the medical officers after he had returned from his trip to the republic.

On June 25, the journalist wrote on his Facebook page that he was ready to provide information and legal support to the medical officers in case of their dismissal.
