Additional places deployed in tent camp near Kullar for Azerbaijanis

In the morning on June 24, in the tent camp near the village of Kullar, additional places and a canteen were deployed for the Azerbaijanis waiting for the departure to their homeland; psychologists and doctors began working in the camp. The new tents were set up by employees of the Ministry for Emergencies (MfE) of Azerbaijan, the administration of the Derbent District reported on its website on June 24.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that for the citizens of Azerbaijan, who could not get home due to the border closure, a temporary accommodation centre (TAC) in the form of a tent camp was set up on the border of the Derbent and Magaramkent Districts.

On June 15, Azerbaijani citizens staged a protest rally, which grew into clashes with law enforcers. Ten Azerbaijanis and four law enforcers were injured.

"The canteen is already working; psychologists of the MfE and doctors are ready to accept people," the report of the administration of the Derbent District says.

In the evening on June 23, four trucks with foodstuffs and equipment also arrived at the camp, Fuad Shikhiev, the head of the Derbent District, wrote on his Instagram page on June 24. "At 8:00 a.m. (on June 24), citizens of the neighbouring state had their breakfast in the new 95-seat tent canteen," wrote Shikhiev.

On the day of deployment of additional places, members of the Azerbaijani official delegation visited the newly deployed tent camp, which also has a medical centre, the office of the Permanent Representative of Azerbaijan, the above Instagram page of the district administration informed on June 24.
