Residents of Chechnya laugh at Kadyrov's demands for receiving guests

People should make visits in medical masks and no longer than for 15 minutes, observe the social distance of 1.5 meters, Ramzan Kadyrov has stated. Residents of Chechnya note that the demands are ridiculous; and it is impossible to check the fulfilment of them.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on June 22, Chechnya completely cancelled the permissive regime of leaving home and the ban on the use of personal cars. At the same time, the republic has preserved the ban on holding mass events, border control and a mandatory mask-wearing regime.

"I have a request to our people. When you visit each other, be sure to wear masks, and [keep] the distance of 1.5 meters. If you are indoors, stay [there] for a maximum of 15 minutes," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent has translated Ramzan Kadyrov's statement made on air of the "Grozny" ChGTRK (Chechen State TV and Radio Company) on June 21, the eve of lifting the restrictions.

It is impossible to control how people communicate as guests, Sakhib, a resident of Grozny, the Chechen capital, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent. "For three months I haven't seen my relatives and friends living in other districts. And what, should I go to visit them, talk for 15 minutes at a distance of 1.5 meters, and return home? It's just ridiculous," he said.

"Wearing masks and paying visits of no more than 15 minutes is nonsense. It is unlikely that anyone will observe this, and you won't put a policeman in each yard," Ibragim, a resident of the Grozny District, has agreed.
