Four NKR communities isolated due to coronavirus

Doctors have confirmed coronavirus in a resident of Stepanakert after he had attended a funeral in the Artashen community of the Hadrut District. After that, the authorities of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) decided to close four district communities on quarantine and introduce restrictions on funerals.

As of June 11, the number of coronavirus infections in the NKR was 68; 79 patients were isolated; 43 recovered; and 1224 COVID-19 tests were conducted in the district.

In four communities of the Hadrut District of the NKR – Artashen, Kyuratag, Aknakhbyur and, Ukhtadzor – exit-and-entrance restrictions were introduced; and residents are prescribed to observe self-isolation rules, said Samvel Balayan, the head of the information headquarters under the NKR Commandant. "While studying the contacts of the four citizens in whom coronavirus was diagnosed on June 11, it was found out that one of them had attended a funeral in one of these communities," Mr Balayan told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

Doctors are now testing coronavirus those local residents who took part in the funeral, Samvel Balayan has added.
