Chechen TV Channel releases an interview with wanted Shaa Turlaev

The "Grozny" ChGTRK (Chechen State TV and Radio Company) has made public an interview with Shaa Turlaev, who was put on the federal wanted list on suspicion of involvement in resonant murders and assassination attempts.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in March 2018, Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov made public a video from the village of Benoi with Shaa Turlaev and called him "the best of the best." While commenting on the meeting, Djambulat Umarov, Chechen Minister of National Policy, emphasized that Shaa Turlaev "returned to civilian life," "repented," and became an example for young people.

Shaa Turlaev, also known as "Gray-Haired", was one of the key figures of the Chechen separatists during the first and second Chechen military campaigns. In 2004, he surrendered under the guarantees of Ramzan Kadyrov and was amnestied.

The video interview with Shaa Turlaev is available on the YouTube channel of the "Grozny" ChGTRK.

On June 7, the TV Channel announced the story with the above interview on its Instagram page. "You will hear the revelations of Shaa Turlaev, a veteran of the two Chechen wars. He will reveal specific facts and events that denounce the essence of those who try to discredit the names and actions of true heroes with vile and deceitful statements," the TV Channel noted in its announcement.

Blogger Tumso Abdurakhmanov commented on the announcement of the interview with Shaa Turlaev. "Shaa will talk about his acts ... However, the paradox of the story is that we know Shaa Turlaev was wanted for at least two crimes ... I dare to suggest that they have already secretly removed his name from the wanted list, at least in Russia," says the blogger in his video posted on the "ABU-SADDAM SHISHANI" channel on YouTube.
