Dagestani teenager's apologies to law enforcers trigger disputes in social network

Dagestan law enforcers have unreasonably used weapons to detain a teenager, and forced him to apologize, Instagram users have suggested. The detainee had to apologize for publicly insulting law enforcers, other commentators have objected.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that since January the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Dagestan has posted at least three videos with local residents' apologies to law enforcers. Thus, in a video of May 30, a man apologized for harsh remarks addressed to policemen, who refused to let him with a sick child.

Another video with apologies to Dagestani law enforcers appeared in social networks on June 2. According to the "Baza" Telegram channel, this was a resident of Khasavyurt, who expressed dissatisfaction with the fact that law enforcers had forbidden to remove the barriers at the entrance to the city, set up due to restrictions because of coronavirus.

The Instagram public xaxa4kala clarifies that the young man was 16 years old.

Some commentators have treated the apologies as justified.

"Next time, he will think before saying something and putting it on public display," the user moy_koroleva__ has written.

The user kurbanovazhumai believes that apologies were made under pressure.
