Rights defenders demand to provide medics from Nalchik hospital with protective means

Nalchik health workers, who help coronavirus infected patients, have reported a deficit of protective means. The Human Rights Centre (HRC) "Memorial" asked the Prosecutor's Office of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR) for clarifications.

The hospital medics have contacted the HRC "Memorial" anonymously, because they fear repressions, says the HRC's website. They stated that they were not provided with reusable protective suits; therefore they were forced to work with infected patients "in worn-out disposable gowns."

In April, the "Caucasian Knot" reported that local businessmen handed over a thousand anti-plague gowns suits to KBR hospitals, and concluded a contract to purchase 5000 gowns more.
