Instagram users discuss Chechen authorities' position on food aid

A family from the Nadterechny District should not have asked for help, since they could have killed their poultry, claims Magomed Daudov, the speaker of the Chechen Parliament.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Magomed Daudov criticized a Chechen resident with many children who lost his job during the quarantine regime and appealed to the speaker of the Chechen parliament for help. An appeal for help in a difficult situation does not contradict the Chechen traditions, and a sharp reaction voiced by Magomed Daudov is unacceptable, Caucasian experts note.

Local resident Israil believes that addressing the Chechen authorities is not worth it. "Finally, you will be either claimed to be a vagabond who does not want to work or a grabber who has everything, but who wants more and more ... Give people back the opportunity to earn money and they won't ask for anything," Israil said.

Let us remind you that starting from almost the very day of the imposition of the self-isolation regime in Chechnya because of the coronavirus infection, the TV Channel regularly reports that the republic's authorities provide food aid to the needy. Some of the food aid packages from the Akhmat Kadyrov Foundation do not reach the poor because of corruption, experts suggest.
