Georgia: increase in number of recovered patients exceeds number of new coronavirus cases

Today, Georgia has registered new 517 cases of the coronavirus infection. Over 24 hours, more patients have been discharged from hospitals than new cases of infection have been registered.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on April 29, the total number of coronavirus-infected people reached 511 in Georgia. 156 patients recovered, and six others died.

There are 517 cases of the coronavirus infection in Georgia, while the number of people who have recovered has risen up to 168. According to the government-run website for monitoring the situation with the coronavirus infection, as at 11:30 a.m. Moscow time on April 29, 5100 people are in quarantine, and 549 stay under doctors' care in hospitals.

The relation of the new cases of the coronavirus infection and the number of recovered patients is 6:12, reports Marina Ezugbaya, the director of the Tbilisi Infectious Disease Hospital. "For the first time, there is such a big difference between the number of people who have recovered and the new confirmed cases. Today, 349 patients are being treated in COVID centres," said Marina Ezugbaya as quoted today by the Georgian online edition "InterPressNews".
