Dagestan remains leader in number of coronavirus-infected people in NCFD

Over 24 hours, in Dagestan, the number of cases of coronavirus infection increased by 167 and reached 994. These are the highest numbers among the regions of the North-Caucasian Federal District (NCFD).

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that over 24 hours from April 25 to 26, the number of coronavirus-infected people in Northern Caucasus increased by 311. Dagestan remained the leader in the absolute number of cases of coronavirus infection and its growth rate.

According to the "Rospotrebnadzor" (Russian Federal Agency for Consumer Supervision), over 24 hours, new 167 cases of coronavirus infection were registered in Dagestan, 38 – in Ingushetia, 33 –in the Stavropol Territory, and 29 – in Kabardino-Balkaria. The smallest increase in the number of coronavirus-infected people was registered in Chechnya (20 patients) and Karachay-Cherkessia (19 patients), the "Rospotrebnadzor" reported on its official website.

Today, the "Rospotrebnadzor" Department for North Ossetia has reported about an unusually high increase in the number of coronavirus-infected in the region: over 24 hours, their number grew by 148 and reached 549. The "Rospotrebnadzor" associated the accelerated spread of the coronavirus infection with a mass protest in Vladikavkaz and violation of the regime of self-isolation by residents of North Ossetia.

By 10:50 a.m. Moscow time on April 27, in Dagestan, the total number of coronavirus-infected people reached 994, in Ingushetia – 590, in the Stavropol Territory – 454, in Chechnya – 429, in Kabardino-Balkaria – 329, and in Karachay-Cherkessia – 301, the government-run website "Stopkoronavirus" reports.
