Protests in North Ossetia find understanding in KBR

Communists of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR) have celebrated the 150th Lenin's birthday, despite the quarantine. The imposed restrictions and difficulties associated with the quarantine regime are pushing people to protests, Boris Pashtov, the local communist leader, believes.

On April 22, members of the KBR's regional branch of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (CPRF) held an online rally in honour of Lenin's birthday, said Boris Pashtov, the first secretary of the CPRF branch.

In his opinion, events similar to those that occurred in North Ossetia are possible in the KBR. He has noted that people "are deprived of the opportunity to work." Besides, they are dissatisfied with many authorities' decisions like the raising of the retirement age.

Olga Kallagova told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that she took part in the online rally, because she shares the idea of social justice. In her opinion, the discontent of North-Ossetian population "has been brewing for a long time."

Earlier, Alan Sarakhov, the director of the public organization "Circassian Renaissance" commented on the plight of KBR residents, who, due to restrictive measures, found themselves in a difficult life situation. He told about the humanitarian action to distribute grocery sets to the needy, the idea of which arose in the "Adyge Khase" public organization, which is promoting the preservation and development of the identity of the Circassian nation.

Traders in Nalchik also complained about the absence of profits.
