NKR reports announces downed Azerbaijani drone

An Azerbaijani unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV, or drone) was shot down on April 21 during its reconnaissance flight over the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR), its militaries have reported.

As a result of competent actions of the anti-aircraft forces, the drone was shot down, the "News.am" has informed.

Combat aircrafts and helicopters are involved in flights near the contact line, but namely Azerbaijani drones are especially often trying to penetrate the airspace for reconnaissance, the NKR's Ministry of Defence (MoD) has informed.

"Recently, in the territories adjacent to the contact line of the confronting Azerbaijani-NKR troops, opponent's air forces often carry out training and reconnaissance flights," the "News-Armenia" has quoted the MoD as stating.

The MoD of the NKR has called on Azerbaijan to refrain from provocations and warned that any offensive actions would be duly repulsed.
