Azerbaijan toughens quarantine regime

Starting from April 9, residents of Azerbaijan who have no signed labour contracts with employers and workers over 65 years old may not leave their homes for the period of quarantine. Managers of companies should reduce the number of employees at working places to the required minimum.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on April 7, the eighth case of death from coronavirus was registered in Azerbaijan. The total number of coronavirus-infected people reached 822.

Since March 24, Azerbaijan has been under the quarantine. People over 65 years old are forbidden to leave their homes, while other people are allowed to go out in special cases. Activists treat these measures as a violation of fundamental freedoms.
