On March 16-22, 2020, no one fell victim to armed conflict in Northern Caucasus

During the week of March 16-22, 2020, no one fell victim to the armed conflict in Northern Caucasus. These are the results of the calculations run by the "Caucasian Knot" based on its own materials and information from other open sources.

Special and counterterrorist operations

On March 20, the police conducted a new raid near the "Tangim" Mosque in Makhachkala. More than 50 law enforcers stopped cars leaving the mosque territory and wrote down personal data of car passengers. The law enforcement bodies explained the raid by conducting the operation "Debtor".

Detentions

On March 16, it became known that Kurban-Magomed Medjidov, a visitor to the "Tangim" Mosque, whom law enforcers took away with them to some unknown destination on March 12, was found in the city of Yessentuki. He was arrested for two months on the charge of financing terrorists. Gusein Magomedaliev, a resident of Dagestan, and Arthur Mendokhov, a resident of Kabardino-Balkaria, were also detained. According to investigators, the suspects sent more than 300,000 roubles to members of the international terrorist organizations "Islamic State" (IS, a terrorist organization, banned in Russia by the court, – note of the "Caucasian Knot") and "Jebhat al-Nusra", banned in the Russian Federation.

Kidnappings

On March 13, Shamkhan Baidulaev was kidnapped in the Achkhoi-Martan District of Chechnya. The native of Chechnya came from Germany to homeland to visit his relatives. According to his brother, relatives were looking for the disappeared man, but failed to find out anything.
