Experts treat awarding of Ramzan Kadyrov's relatives as unprecedented facts

Ramzan Kadyrov is the only Russian governor who distributes orders and medals to his close relatives, note experts on the oriental studies interviewed by the "Caucasian Knot". Such actions stimulate subordinates of the Chechen leader to serve him with special zeal, explains Ruslan Kutaev, the president of the Assembly of Caucasian Nations.

On March 8, Agazert Daaeva, an aunt of the Chechen leader, was awarded the Order of Akhmat Kadyrov, and Medni Kadyrova, a spouse of the leader of Chechnya, was awarded the Badge "For Distinction in the Fight against Terrorism." The authorities of the republic demonstrate that relatives of Ramzan Kadyrov make up a special caste, local residents note.

According to political analyst Alexei Malashenko, he had never heard of similar honouring of leaders' relatives in the modern Islamic world.

"Awarding own relatives does not concern Islam at all," notes Vladimir Bobrovnikov, an expert on the oriental studies.

In October 2019, after the Ramzan Kadyrov's frequent visits to the Middle East, experts on the Caucasus called him a "minister of foreign affairs for relations with the Islamic world."
