Residents of Armenia criticize authorities for insufficient measures against coronavirus

Arsen Torosyan, the Minister of Public Health of Armenia, has stated that those infected with coronavirus are doing well, but pneumonia has developed in one of them. Facebook users have criticized the authorities for their failure to immediately isolate the citizens arriving from Italy, and called for closing the border.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the first coronavirus in Armenia was a 29-year-old local resident who arrived from Tehran. On March 11, three new cases of coronavirus infection were detected in the country; all the patients came from Italy.

Arsen Torosyan has stated that, despite the new infections, the situation is under control. He has also recalled that the World Health Organization (WHO) had announced a coronavirus pandemic due to the expansion of the geography of the infection.

"Why don't you isolate those who came from Italy? Are you waiting until they infect their family members?" asks Karine Gukasyan on the Facebook.

According to Lucy Goroyan, the authorities should not rely on the self-consciousness of those who came from Italy – they should be forcibly placed under quarantine.

Social network subscribers to the Premier Nikol Pashinyan have also criticized the actions of the authorities.

Astrit Akopyan called the new coronavirus infection cases "the government's fault."

According to Lusine Airapetyan, the life of citizens is more important than flights.
