Three persons killed in attack on DPS checkpoint in Ingushetia

At a checkpoint at the entrance to Magas, law enforcers killed two attackers and wounded another one, while one of three injured law enforcers died, sources reported.

According to a source, a group of three persons drove up to a checkpoint of the road-and-patrol service (known as DPS) in a car and opened fire from submachine guns. The sources added that two attackers were killed at the place, and one more suspect was wounded.

"Two policemen were injured, and unfortunately, the third was killed," reported the source as quoted by the "Interfax".

According to the preliminary information, the car took run along the oncoming lane and tried to ram the DPS checkpoint, the "Glavkom RI" Telegram channel reports today. According to its source, the attackers had no firearms. "Three criminals used their car to crash into the DPS checkpoint. Then they jumped out of the car with knives, killed a policeman, and injured his colleague. The third policeman managed to open fire on the attackers," the "Glavkom RI" Telegram channel reports.
