Social network users criticize words of commander of Kadyrov regiment about "traitors"

Ironic comments were made by social network users to the video with the speech by Zamid Chalaev, the commander of the Akhmat Kadyrov patrol-and-post service (PPS) regiment in Chechnya; while local residents report about the escalation of anxiety atmosphere in the republic.

On December 20, a video clip appeared in social networks, in which Zamid Chalaev explains to his subordinates that all the offenders should be treated as "traitors."

In September, Chalaev participated in a public scold of the young people, who wrote in social networks that the "Muslims' Pride" Mosque in Shali was built for "illegal money."

"I tell you to understand: he uses pills [narcotic drugs] – he is a traitor; he drinks alcohol – he is a traitor; he does what our padishah [Ramzan Kadyrov] has forbidden – he is a traitor. He is a traitor to us, and we'll punish him as a traitor. He has stuck a film [a tinted film on his car windows] and drives the car – he is a traitor; he exceeds the speed limit – he is a traitor; he is shooting at a wedding party – he is a traitor," Chalaev has stated, in particular.

"It seems to me that such statements are aimed at enhancing the already prevailing atmosphere of fear and hopelessness in the region," Abu, a local resident, has stated, adding that earlier people who had committed offences were not publicly blamed as "traitors".
