Head of "International Memorial" fined by 200,000 roubles

Today, the court has imposed two fines of 100,000 roubles each on Yan Rachinsky. After an inspection, initiated by the Ingush FSB Department, the amount of fines imposed on the "International Memorial", the Human Rights Centre (HRC) "Memorial", and the heads of those NGOs reached 2.9 million roubles.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on November 7 and 25, two fines of 100,000 roubles each were also imposed on Yan Rachinsky, the chairman of the board of the "International Memorial".

Today, the Tverskoi District Court of Moscow has pronounced a decision to fine Yan Rachinsky 100,000 roubles for the absence of a "foreign agent" mark on the page of the "1968. Year of Human Rights" group on the VKontakte social network and on the "International Memorial" YouTube channel. Earlier, on December 12, Yan Rachinsky got the same fine for the website "1968. Year of Human Rights". In total, following the results of consideration of 15 protocols, Yan Rachinsky, the "International Memorial", as well as the HRC "Memorial" and Alexander Cherkasov, the head of its council, were fined 2.9 million roubles, reports the "International Memorial" on its website.

Let us remind you that the "Memorial" was included by the Russian Ministry of Justice (MoJ) in the register of foreign agents in 2014. Attempts to challenge the inclusion in the "foreign agent" list in the courts did not succeed.
