Kadyrov's active promotion on Instagram confirms his claim to expand popularity

The use by the head of Chechnya of modern methods of self-promotion in social networks is assessed by experts as a claim for an increase of his political status. Ramzan Kadyrov's participation in humorous video clips is intended to show his progressiveness, Andrei Kozlov, a PR expert, has noted.

A joking video clip featuring Kadyrov was posted on the Instagram by the blogger, Artyom Kalaidjyan on December 4. By his promotion actions, Kadyrov emphasizes his image of an authoritarian leader, borrowing features of the image of Vladimir Putin, the communications experts interviewed by the "Caucasian Knot" believe.

A popular blogger, Artyom Kalaidjyan has posted a video clip with the head of Chechnya in his page and urged to subscribe to his unofficial page in the social network za_kadyrova_95eng. In the video clip, the blogger sings a song based on the motive of the screen saver of a children's humorous newsreel.

Commentators have perceived the participation of the popular blogger in promoting Kadyrov's account with irony. "If you are taken hostage, blink twice in the next video," wrote the user dr_davidovich_, addressing the blogger Kalaidjyan.

The frequent publications by top bloggers of video clips with Kadyrov have to do with his aspiration to expand his influence beyond Chechnya, aiming at young people who have "settled" in the YouTube and Instagram, Dmitry Oreshkin, a political analyst, believes.

Kadyrov, as a "very ambitious and narcissistic person," wants to "go beyond the bounds of Chechnya at any cost," Alexei Malashenko, an Orientalist, agrees.

Andrei Kozlov, a PR expert, believes that Kadyrov's promotion through social networks and through playful videos shows the head of Chechnya as a progressive politician, along with the US President Donald Trump.
