With his words about Khangoshvili, Putin continues denying murders of Kremlin enemies

By his own words about the "bloody man" Zelimkhan Khangoshvili, Russian President Vladimir Putin has completely rejected the version of involvement of Russian special services in the murder committed in Berlin, experts believe. Bloggers and journalists saw in Putin's words an attempt to justify the murder.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Putin had stated that Zelimkhan Khangoshvili, who was shot dead in Germany, was one of the organizers of explosions in Moscow metro.

Putin's words about Khangoshvili sound like taking responsibility for the Berlin murder, the Chechen blogger, Tumso Abdurakhmanov, has stated.

In his turn, Sergey Goncharov, President of the Association of Veterans of the "Alpha" Antiterrorist Unit, sees no hint in the Putin's statement about special services' involvement in Khangoshvili's killing. "If the Russian special services had intention to kill him, they would have done it at a different time and at a different level," he has explained.

Dmitry Oreshkin, a political analyst, regards the Putin's statement as an attempt to "disown" in advance from this crime. He has noted that Russian special services had never confessed to their involvement in elimination of their enemies abroad. The only exception, as he believes, was the assassination of former Chechen President, Zelimkhan Yandarbiev, in 2004.

The Bild notes that Khangoshvili was shot dead in Berlin on August 23, the birthday of Akhmat Kadyrov; and the Chechen field commander Shamil Basaev, whose ally Khangoshvili was, claimed responsibility for killing Akhmat Kadyrov in 2004.
