Chechen police continue exhortation practice for drinking alcohol

"Educational conversations" are unlikely to help; such people [alcohol addicts] need to be treated, users have noted in their comments on another video clip showing a Chechen policeman reproaching the detainees for using psychotropic drugs and appearing drunk in public places.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in October, a video of such "educational conversation" that took place at the Kurchaloi ROVD (District Interior Division) was posted on the Instagram. Such posts are humiliating people, social network users and residents of Chechnya have noted.

Chechen law enforcers are raising their ratings in the eyes of the authorities by recording videos with reprimands for drinking alcohol and using psychotropic drugs, while pharmacies continue selling such drugs without prescriptions, social network users assert.

In the video posted on the Instagram, a policeman talks with men "about the traditions and customs of the Chechen people."

Social network users question the effect of such conversations.

Let us remind you that in late 2017, Chechen authorities limited the sale of alcoholic beverages. On the eve of 2019, law enforcers raided stores and houses, where such beverages were sold. The analysts interviewed by the "Caucasian Knot" treated the combating alcohol consumption in Chechnya as a way of authorities' popularizing.
