Residents of Dagestan support Murtazali Gasanguseinov's picket

Murtazali Gasanguseinov, the father of the slain shepherds, and Djambulat Gasanov, an activist, have again went out to a series of solo pickets demanding to acquaint them to the materials of the service check conducted against a high-ranking police officer.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Messrs Gasanguseinov and Gasanov have been holding daily pickets demanding to dismiss and bring to criminal liability the law enforcer, who, at the time of the murder of the shepherds-brothers, Murtazali's sons, held the position of the head of the Shamil ROVD (District Interior Division), and then reported on the killing of two militants.

The lawyer, Abubakar Yangulbaev, who represents the interests of Murtazali Gasanguseinov, was not allowed to get acquainted with the results of the above service check and the motivation for the refusal to initiate criminal proceedings against the ROVD former head, Mr Gasanov said earlier.

On August 23, 2016, Nabi and Gasangusein Gasanguseinov, 17-year-old and 19-year-old brothers, were killed during an operation conducted by law enforcers in the Shamil District of Dagestan.

Another picket was held on November 19; in the course thereof, the picketers, Djambulat Gasanov and Murtazali Gasanguseinov, were supported by eight residents of Makhachkala. The total number of people participating in a series of solo pickets has reached 10 persons, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports from the venue.

In his comment to the "Caucasian Knot", Djambulat Gasanov has noted that picketers' demands remain unchanged: Murtazali Gasanguseinov and Djambulat Gasanov demand to get access to the materials and results of the service check conducted in relation to the former senior police officer, the activist has noted. According to Mr Gasanov, there is no authorities' reaction to Gasanguseinov's actions.
