ICRF to verify legitimacy of pensions for wives of killed militant from Dagestan

In Dagestan, two wives of a militant killed in Syria got pensions for the loss of primary income earner for more than three years. They are suspected of forging documents, a source reports.

According to investigators, both women from the Tsumadinsky District were wives of Magomedkhan Daudov, who was put on the international wanted list in a case on a terror act and involvement in the ranks of militants. Later, he was killed in Syria. The suspected women, one of whom took care of one minor child and the other  of two minors, applied for pensions. The documents on the Magomedkhan Daudov's death that they provided were fake, but a local woman helped the suspects to fulfill the formalities to get the pensions: she received part of the pension money from them, the source reported.

In total, in the period from October 1, 2015, to July 29, 2019, the first suspect got about 400,000 roubles, and the second about 1.2 million roubles, the "Interfax" reports with reference to a source. The women face up to 10 years of imprisonment.
