Gadjiev allowed family visits

After his detention, Abdulmumin Gadjiev, a Dagestani journalist, arrested under the case of financing terrorism, was for the first time visited by his wife and four children.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Abdulmumin Gadjiev, the editor of the religion section of the Dagestani weekly and website "Chernovik" (Draft), has been under arrest since June 18, 2019, under the case of financing of terrorism. The journalist refuses to plead guilty.

The family visit to the arrested journalist took place on October 22, his wife, Dana Sakieva, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent today. She said that the investigator issued a permit to visit her husband on Friday (October 18).

Let us remind you that rights defenders treat Abdulmumin Gadjiev's case as a threat to all journalists in Russia; and the Human Rights Centre (HRC) "Memorial" declared him to be a political prisoner.
