Series of pickets in support of journalist Gadjiev launched in Makhachkala

Activists went out to the buildings of law enforcement bodies, the Makhachkala Mayoralty and the Government of Dagestan demanding the release Abdulmumin Gadjiev, a journalist of the "Chernovik" weekly, who was arrested within the case of financing terrorism.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Gadjiev is in custody since June 18, 2019. His colleagues and friends are regularly holding pickets demanding to close his case.

On October 9, Khabib Gadjiev, Abdulmumin's father, testified; while his brother and wife refused to testify. The journalist himself refuses to plead guilty. Rights defenders treat Gadjiev's case as a threat to all journalists in Russia.
