Vladikavkaz: picketers demand to punish law enforcer for beating

Rostislav Melnichenko, a resident of North Ossetia, who had complained about beating by law enforcers, has already received five refusals to initiate a criminal case against the attackers. On September 26, Melnichenko and his sister came out to the Government House with a poster about the equality of all nationals before the law.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Yulia, a sister of Rostislav Melnichenko, a resident of Mozdok, reported to the ICRF (Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation) that on March 11, he was beaten up by law enforcers and hospitalized with traumas. Rostislav said that the district policeman, who witnessed the incident, "did nothing to stop it."

Rostislav and Yulia Melnichenko went out to hold their solo pickets at the Government House in Vladikavkaz, the capital of North Ossetia-Alania, Andrei Sabinin, an advocate, has written in his Telegram channel "Sabinin in the Caucasus" by accompanying his post by photos, in which Rostislav and Yulia Melnichenko stand with the poster "All nationalities are equal before the law".

"Since March, they have already received five refusal orders of the ICRF. A policeman, who had accidentally occurred 'not in execution of his official service' broke his jaw, wrote the advocate. He said that the Melnichenkos had decided to appeal to the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR).
