Azerbaijan claims shelling attack on village in border area

The positions of the Azerbaijani troops in the Karabakh conflict zone, including in the border village, were shelled from heavy machine guns, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) of Azerbaijan reports today.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on September 25, Azerbaijan registered 20 shelling attacks in the conflict zone.

On September 25-26, the Azerbaijani MoD registered 20 shelling attacks as well. "Units of the armed forces of Armenia used heavy machine guns and 20 times violated the ceasefire in different directions of the front within 24 hours," the Azerbaijani MoD reports today on its official website.

According to the Azerbaijani MoD, the positions of the Azerbaijani troops in the village of Guschu Airim in the Gazakh District came under fire.

As at 9:50 a.m. Moscow time on today, the Ministries of Defence for Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh have not yet posted on their official websites any comments on the statement released by the Azerbaijani MoD.
