In Quarter 1 of 2019, 21 people fell victim to armed conflict in Northern Caucasus

In January-March of 2019, at least 21 people suffered from the armed conflict in Northern Caucasus: 16 people were killed, and at least five more were wounded. These are the results of the calculations run by the "Caucasian Knot" based on its own materials and information from open sources.

Among those 16 in the death toll, there were 14 persons involved, according to law enforcement bodies, in the activities of illegal armed formations (IAFs), and two law enforcers.

Among the five wounded persons, there were four law enforcers and one civilian.

In Kabardino-Balkaria, in Quarter 1 of 2019, eight people were killed: seven of them, according to law enforcement bodies, had been involved in the activities of the armed underground, and one was a law enforcer.

In Dagestan, in Quarter 1 of 2018, four people perished – all were the alleged members of the armed underground.

In Ingushetia, four people suffered during this period – one died and three were wounded. The deceased was a law enforcer; one civilian and two law enforcers were among those wounded.

In Chechnya, in January-March of 2019, as a result of the conflict, one alleged IAF member was killed, and two law enforcers were wounded.

In the Stavropol Territory, two alleged participants in the armed underground were killed in Quarter 1 of 2019.

In Quarter 4 of 2018, there were no victims of conflict registered in Karachay-Cherkessia and the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania.
