Ombudsman confirms complaint of Chechen detainee about torture
A native of Chechnya, detained after a mass brawl with gunfire in Krasnodar, has complained to the territorial ombudsman about beatings and tortured with electric shock during detention. As stated by Ruslan Kutaev, the head of the "Assembly of Caucasian Nastions", an office has been set up to any further torture of the detainees within this case.
Sergey Myshak, the Ombudsman for the Krasnodar Territory, has visited the SIZO (pre-trial prison), where the detainees after the incident in Krasnodar are kept.
Ramzan Khabaev, the advocate of one of the arrested persons, said that the suspects have traumas. His client received two stab and one gunshot wounds during the conflict itself.
Ruslan Kutaev said that he managed to gather the parents and advocates of all the detainees and set up a unified office. "I can safely say: we won't let the guys to be tortured anymore," he wrote on his Facebook.
