Russian SC schedules consideration of case of Dagestanis killed in Chechnya

The Supreme Court (SC) of Russia scheduled for August 12 a hearing in the criminal case of eight natives of Dagestan, who, according to the Chechen law enforcement bodies, were killed in a shootout. This was reported by advocate Andrei Sabinin.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on July 22, the Supreme Court of Chechnya redirected to the Supreme Court of Russia a defence request to transfer the consideration of the case of killed Dagestani natives from Chechnya to another region.

According to the Chechen law enforcement bodies, the natives of Dagestan were plotting a terror act and were killed in a shootout. Examinations confirmed that the people killed in Chechnya were in blood connection with people from the neighbouring republic whose relatives were kidnapped.

Let us remind you that according to the law enforcement bodies, on October 9, 2016, eight suspected militants were killed and four policemen were wounded in the Gudermes District of Chechnya. The Chechen Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) stated that all the killed suspects were part of the same grouping and they were plotting terror acts. In April 2017, the Prosecutor's Office of Chechnya pointed out violations in the investigation into the case.
