Azerbaijani oppositionist Ayaz Magerramli allowed travelling abroad

Today, Azerbaijani activist Ayaz Magerramli has left the country after five refusals of border guards to let him leave Azerbaijan.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Ayaz Magerramli, a member of the Presidium of the Supreme Majlis of the Popular Front Party of Azerbaijan (PFPA), associated the above restrictions with his political activities.

"On July 24, I got a call from the Ombudsman's office and was informed that the ban on my travelling abroad had been lifted and I could freely cross the border ... Today, I have successfully crossed the Azerbaijani-Georgian border," said Ayaz Magerramli.

According to him, the authorities positively resolved the problem thanks to the reaction of the public in the media and social networks.

Today, Gezyal Bairamly, the deputy chair of the Popular Front Party of Azerbaijan, has also reported that she got a foreign passport after a refusal in its issue. She has associated the above with the "increased attention from society and international institutions."

"That's good that the authorities began to react to public opinion ... However, I would not call it a sharp turn in the policy of the authorities towards the opposition. Ten activists of our party are still being kept in prison on fabricated charges," said Ilham Gusein, another member of the Presidium of the Supreme Majlis of the Popular Front Party of Azerbaijan.
