Journalists criticize harsh detention of Dagestan officials

Saad Saidov, Yusup Rasulov and Magomedamin Kazakbiev have been arrested within the case of signing illegal contracts for school construction. The damage caused by them was estimated at 6.4 million roubles, the "Kommersant" writes.

The demonstration of the video of detention with bags over their heads is a psychological pressure on the suspects, Milrad Fatullaev, the editor-in-chief of the "Derbent" News Agency, asserts.

According to his story, such tough actions against suspects of economic crimes, who present no physical threat, have no reasonable explanation.

The screening of such videos is intended to show the activities results of law enforcement bodies, and at the same time serves as an edification for others, Eduard Urazaev, a political analyst, has suggested.

"Perhaps this is caused by irritation from corruption and the desire to strengthen the preventive effect by showing the video that abuses the human dignity," he has added.
