Chechen law enforcers release detainees acquainted with Akhmed Barzaev

Law enforcers questioned residents of Chechnya, who were detained because of their contacts with Akhmed Barzaev, killed while attacking policemen. There are no claims against the young people, and they are all released, reports the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA).

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on June 27, several persons, including Ayub and Abubakar Inurkaev, were detained because of their contacts with Akhmed Barzaev.

On June 23, two policemen were injured near the residence of the leader of Chechnya in Grozny, while the attacker was killed. According to the MIA, the policemen were attacked by Akhmed Barzaev, a resident of Chechnya, born in 1997. The "Islamic State" (IS), a terrorist grouping banned in Russia by the court, claimed that Akhmed Barzaev was its militant. The father of the killed attacker and his other relatives publicly cursed him on the air of the TV channel.

On July 1, the detained Inurkaev brothers, natives of the village of Zamai-Yurt, were released, reported their relative Akhmad.

At present, the young people are at home, reports Markha, a member of a Chechen NGO. "According to our information, 11 people were detained," the activist said.

The Inurkaev brothers and other detainees were released, since "the police had no claims against them," confirmed Kheda Saratova, a member of the Chechen Human Rights Council.
