Oyub Titiev released in Argun (+video)

Today, Oyub Titiev, the head of the Grozny office of the Human Rights Centre (HRC) "Memorial", has left his penal colony in Argun, where he had been imprisoned on charges of drug possession.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on March 18, Oyub Titiev was sentenced to four years in a settlement colony on charges of drug possession. On June 10, the court granted the Titiev's motion for the conditional early relief (CER).

Today, Oyub Titiev has left his colony-settlement No. 3.

Oyub Titiev insists on his innocence. According to him, the drugs, for possessing which he was convicted, were planted on him. The HRC "Memorial" pointed to 10 facts testifying to the falsification of the criminal case against Oyub Titiev.
