Head of Krasnodar criminal search testifies in favour of Benyash

The policemen, who had accused the lawyer Mikhail Benyash of beating them, had no noticeable injuries after the conflict with him, Sergei Sakhno, the head of the Krasnodar criminal search division, has stated to the court. The prosecution witness gave testimonies useful for the defence, Mr Benyash believes.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Mikhail Benyash was accused of attacking policemen; the court released him on bail. The Alexei Navalny's Krasnodar office has linked the prosecution of Benyash with the legal support he had provided to oppositionists.

At questioning at the trial on June 18, Sergey Sakhno gave testimonies contrary to those of his subordinates, Mikhail Benyash told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

"He didn't notice any injuries allegedly inflicted by me to his subordinates [...] In general, he gave testimonies positive for the defence," said Benyash.
