Residents of Dagestani Kizlyar rally against Chechen signs

Residents of Dagestan have gathered for a rally near one of the signs of Chechnya installed in the outskirt of Kizlyar, demanding to dismantle such signs.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on June 10, a video was posted on the Internet, in which young people demolished a road sign with the inscription "Shelkovskoy District" installed in the outskirt of Kizlyar. The sign will be reinstalled, said Magomed Daudov, Speaker of the Chechen Parliament. Dagestan will not unilaterally cede its territory, said the head of the republic, Vladimir Vasiliev.

Residents of the Kizlyar District gathered at the place of the dismantled sign and expressed their disagreement with the installation of Chechen signs. Law enforcers suggested participants of the rally to disperse, but they wouldn't obey.
