Yekaterinburg: jury acquits ted a Chechen native Movsur Khasaev

At the Sverdlovsk Regional Court, the jury has unanimously declared Movsur Khasaev, a native of Chechnya, accused of killing Yekaterinburg resident Ashot Arutyunyan, to be innocent.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Movsur Khasaev, a resident of the Chechen village of Vedeno, was accused of killing a resident of Yekaterinburg back in 2011; Khasaev was detained 6.5 years later.

According to investigators, in May 2011, he was in Yekaterinburg and decided to kill the entrepreneur, Ashot Arutyunyan "on the basis of personal hostility." In their turn, Khasaev's fellow villagers stated that he was at home on the day of the murder and does not fit the description of the killer given by witnesses.

According to Musbek Khasaev, Movsur's brother, because of several diseases, Movsur is unable to shoot and run; and he "walks with difficulty." Besides, 90 witnesses confirmed that on the day of the murder Movsur Khasaev was at the commemoration of his uncle, the "Mediazona" writes.

"Justice has triumphed; and we are pleased to see it," the "Kavkaz.Realii" quotes Musbek Khasaev, who treated the accusation of his brother as absurd.

"Movsur didn't even know where the city of Yekaterinburg is on the map," said Musbek.
