Passengers at Rostov Airport evacuated after bomb call

Reports about mining of the Platov Rostov Airport turned out to be false, the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) has reported. Flights are not delayed; the staff works in normal mode, the airport has informed.

The staff and personnel were evacuated from Platov Airport in Rostov-on-Don after a call about a planted bomb. An anonymous call was made to the police today at about 10:35 a.m. Moscow time. "The check was over at 12:00 a.m. Moscow time, no suspicious objects were found," the "Interfax" quotes the spokesman for the transport department of the MIA for the North-Caucasian Federal District (NCFD) as saying. Department agents are trying to identify the caller.

The work of the Platov Airport was suspended for several minutes, then, it continued in its normal mode; flights are carried out according to the schedule, the "Komsomolskaya Pravda" has noted with reference to the press service of the airport.

Earlier, the "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on May 20, more than 2000 people were evacuated after bomb calls from shopping centres and the railway station in Taganrog.
