Azerbaijan claims 28 shelling attacks on its positions per day

Over the past day, positions of the Azerbaijani army in the Karabakh conflict zone and on the border with Armenia were shelled, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) for Azerbaijan reports today.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on May 9, the Azerbaijani MoD registered 27 shelling attacks in the conflict zone. In its turn, Nagorno-Karabakh claimed 250 shelling attacks on its positions in the week from April 28 to May 4.

"Positions of the Azerbaijani army in the village of Garalar in the Tovuz District, in the village of Zamanly, and at nameless heights in the territory of the Gadabay District were shelled," the Azerbaijani MoD reports today on its website.

According to the Azerbaijani MoD, the fire also came "from the positions located near the occupied villages of Geyarkh in the Tartar District, Kuropatkino in the Khojavend District, and Nyuzgyar in the Djebrail District."

As at 9:30 a.m. on today, the Ministries of Defence for Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh have not posted on their official websites any comments concerning the statement voiced by the Azerbaijani MoD.
