Earlier, the family of Aslan Maskhadov, the diseased leader of Chechen separatists, asked for political asylum in Finland. This was announced by the "Finland-Caucasus" society based in Helsinki. According to the Finland-Caucasus society, the Maskhadov's family lived in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan.
