Georgia reports kidnapping of resident of border village

A resident of the village of Medjvriskhevi, located on the border with South Ossetia was kidnapped from his land plot, the office of the state minister of Georgia for reconciliation matters has reported.

Earlier, the office of the South-Ossetian presidential envoy explained that on the border with Georgia, villagers' vegetable gardens are partially in the Georgian territory; and a special border crossing schedule had been drafted for local residents.

Prior to detention, Gocha Fidiuri, 50, was not far from the border line, in his garden, the "Georgia Online" has written.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on March 17, Georgia reported a kidnapping of a Ditsi villager on the border. The young man was accused of illegally crossing the border, and on March 18, he was released.
