Volgograd activists picket against President Putin's policies

Six solo pickets were held in central Volgograd. Activists declared political repressions, unemployment and the deterioration of Russians' life quality.

The pickets were held on April 13 in the Tsentralny District of Volgograd, at the intersection of the Alley of Heroes with Lenin Avenue.

Tamara Grodnikova, a pensioner, laid out several posters on the bench; in her hands, she held a poster: "Does Putin know? Vertical of power is vertical of lie".

"Young people are leaving the country; the intellectual fund is depleted; private businesses are strangely developing here: there's no competition and no free entrepreneurship. Companies don't care about product quality and accessibility thereof for the population. This is especially true for the foodstuffs," Ms Grodnikova has expressed her position to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

She also stated the increased political repressions in the country.

Galina Tikhenko, another picketer, a pensioner from the city of Volzhsky, expressed similar claims to the authorities. She held posters: "Freedom to political prisoners! No to the police state!" and "Putin! Enough to lie and fight".
