Authorities order Kadyrov's fellow villagers to dismantle their houses

Residents of the Khosi-Yurt village are dismantling their houses located at the family estate of Ramzan Kadyrov, since the authorities decided to expand the park in the village centre. In two weeks, people should take out all their necessary things; then, the houses will be demolished, residents of Chechnya have reported.

The dismantling of about ten private houses located in the centre of the village on the instruction of the authorities was launched by owners themselves.

"We have a female relative living there; our guys go to help in dismantling her house. They've already moved furniture and belongings to their relatives. It's a pity; it was a good house with a large surrounding land plot," Musa, a resident of the village of Alleroi, told the "Caucasian Knot".

"Those whose houses are demolished will get land plots in other places. They will either build new houses or give them compensations. I think that Kadyrov will not offend his fellow villagers," said Adam, a local resident.

In Argun, Shali and Kurchaloi, entire districts were demolished for the sake of reconstruction; and in Khosi-Yurt, the authorities act on the same principle, Malkan, a local woman, has noted.

"No one likes that they demolish his house, which had been built by parents or even grandfathers, but it's pointless to object; you'll only make troubles for yourself," the woman has explained.

In December 2017, a large-scale demolition of residential houses was launched in Shali. Authorities promised new houses to those evicted from the city centre, but residents themselves reported that they were forced to rent housing at their own account.

The patrimonial village of the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, is the most guarded settlement in the republic: in order to get into it, you have to drive through at least two guard cordons.
